Often, clients have the detailed wording for their project but not for its overall, attention-getting theme. Such was the case with the New York League League of Conservation Voters’ advocacy campaign for two pesticide safety bills before the New York City Council.

Thanks to my skills as both designer and editor, the campaign found its voice on this postcard; bugs, as everyone now knows, aren’t the only ones steering away from pesticides. I also found a website with free high-resolution images of insects, keeping costs as low as possible while turning the project around quickly in order to meet the voting date for the bills.
