Transportation Alternatives Brooklyn

New York City needs better biking and more-liveable streets if it’s to thrive in the future. I have long been committed to building safer streets for bicyclists and pedestrians, and nothing reflects that passion better than my work with Transportation Alternatives’ Brooklyn Activist Committee.

As the committee’s work started to grow in recent years, we had to do a better job reaching out to communities and informing everyone of our group’s campaigns, events, and other news. I reorganized our efforts on Facebook with a new, livelier page that I now regularly maintain. I launched a Twitter feed for our People First on Atlantic Avenue campaign, featuring news of developments on the avenue and live tweets of our events. I have also worked with other committees and TA headquarters staff to improve outreach online and off.

TA honored my efforts for the committee when they named me Brooklyn Activist of the Year in 2014.

I have also used my graphic design skills for the Brooklyn Committee and Atlantic Avenue campaign to help promote new events and report on the results of our actions.
